2012 Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic looks poised to make history at this year's Australian Open as he kicks off the tournament on a high, claiming victory over Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-2 6-4 7-5. Other winners from the first round include: Tomas Berdych, Nicolas Almagro, Stanislas Warwinka and Kei Nishikori.
In the female category, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Heather Watson, Li Na, Victoria Azarenka have all secured their place in the next round. Serena Williams is scheduled to play latter today, so all you who loves to watch the Tennis Princess play should watch out for it!!!
