In an interview with Oprah (which concluded a few hours ago), Lance Armstrong admitted to the renowned TV host that he actually did make use of performance-enhancing drugs during his pro cycling career to win the Tour de France.
The now ex-cyclist was reportedly close to tears as in addition to stripping him of all seven Tour de France titles, Armstrong also got a lifetime ban from the governing body International Cycling Union (UCI) and US Anti Doping Agency.
Lance, who earlier in the day apologized to the staff at Livestrong, wrapped up his one hour interview session with Oprah, openly confessed to cheating for the first time all through his career, saying his sorry for letting everyone.
Before now, the 41 year old has always vehemently denied using performance-enhancing drugs and had never tested positive to a doping test. But the evidence against him has been overwhelming. Oprah, on Twitter, offered little more herself other than to say Armstrong came prepared for the interview, which will be broadcast on Thursday. She twitted: "Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2½ hours. He came READY."
