Black Stars defender John Paintsil has been arrested by police for stabbing his wife during a recent misunderstanding. This incident was confirmed by Greater Accra Police PRO Freeman Tettey in an interview with Joy News. As at this moment, its still unclear what the cause of the misunderstand really was, but the police has described the incident as domestic violence.
The wife, Richlove Paintsil, who is currently unconscious but responding well treatment at the hospital, is reported to have jumped the Trasacco wall to her neighbour, ostensibly to escape the assault of the husband but Paintsil is alleged to have followed into the neighbour’s house and handed a few slaps to the man holding the wife.
Paintsil was part of Ghana's Black Star team at the just concluded 2013 African Cup of Nations.
