Seven Cameroon athletes missing from camp

Report from the Ministry of Physical Education shows that seven Cameroon athletes have been reported missing while in camp at the ongoing London Olympic Games. The seven - five boxers, a swimmer, and a soccer player...are suspected to have left to stay in Europe due to economic reasons. In a statement, mission's head, David Ojong said: ''what began as rumour has finally turned out to be true. Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated at the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village.''

Ojong said the first to disappear was the women's team reserve goalkeeper, Drusille Ngako. A few days later, a swimmer, Paul Ekane and his personal belongings were no longer found in his room. Five boxers eliminated from the game - Thomas Essomba, Christian Danfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendouo and Serge Ambomo all disappeared on Sunday from the Olympic village.

While the International Olympic Committee officials are saying that they are not aware of such disappearance of athletes from camp, it should be noted that this is not the first of it's kind in which African athletes will be reported missing from camp...all in the name of wanting to spend more time in Europe in search of 'greener pasture.'
